Offline Assessments
Can I add my own questions to create an assessment rather than using the question bank?
No, you need to use the questions we provide. We aim to be always up to date with current questions and have over 15,000 fully randomised questions which should be more than enough for your requirements and are continually writing new ones.
Creating a PDF for printing
After you have created a test,
-
Click on the pdf icon next to the assessment you wish to use
-
Choose from the following options given on the 'Print Test' page:
-
Assessment Title (includes the assessment title on the pdf)
-
Student Name, Class and Date area (includes an empty box for name, space and date)
-
Total Marks (useful for a test, deselect for a worksheet)
-
Introduction (text that wish to write about equipment required, etc…)
-
Show marks per question (marks will appear on the right hand side of the pdf for each question)
-
Include Space to write answer (leaves a large gap between each question for showing working)
-
Add line break between questions (puts a grey line in between each question for more visible separation)
-
Create answer key (includes an answer key at the end of the pdf)
-
Then click 'continue'
-
Wait a few seconds for pdf to be enabled, then click on 'PDF'
-
Your pdf will be sent to your email address shortly (this delay depends on size of pdf)
Creating an Assessment
-
From the home page after you login, click 'Question Bank'
-
Name your assessment by clicking 'Untitled Assessment' or 'Edit'
-
Select a question you want from the tree
-
Click 'Number to Add' if you want multiple versions of the same question
-
Click 'regenerate question' if you wish to view different randomisations of a question
-
Click 'lock in the example above' if you wish to save a specific randomisation of a question for your pdf
-
Continue selecting questions to build a test, then save the assessment by clicking 'Create Assessment'
-
Select which 'class' to save the assessment to, whether the assessment should be available as an 'online' assessment (if selected, the test will appear in your students view for them to complete - select from/to dates) or as an 'offline' assessment which is ready to print, display as a slideshow or set as online homework later.
I would like to be able to use documents from the assessment bank, print them and give to students. I would like to be able to mark/grade students based on these printed papers. How would I be able to do that?
You need to create a PDF or DOCX of the assessment and then print it. If you wish to add grades to the gradebook, click the gradebook and then 'Add offline grades'.
